The Face Shop - Ink Lasting Foundation

The Face Shop's

Ink Lasting Foundation Slim Fit 2018

One week ago, I was given the opportunity to try out The Face Shop's new product which is the Ink Lasting Foundation. If you've been following Hermo you've probably seen the live - if not, you need to follow Hermo :p (Narcissism much)

But anyway, I was given the foundation to try and I hardly ever gotten the opportunity to do so since I've always been in my comfort zone in just using the ones that I know, hence it's really for me to make a change if this foundation works on it! And this is how this review is formed too. Lol.

I've been testing out this foundation for some time now and here's the result.

If you're wondering why there are two products here, they are basically the same product in different packaging. Left is Slim Fit To Go, a compact foundation where you can pump and bring it with you. While right is in the normal bottle to add into the rest of your foundation collection. ;)

For me, I pumped two times from the bottled foundation and that's all I need for my entire face. A little goes a long way. :)
This is in the shade N203.

Here's me with my totally bare face, while I apply the foundation on one side first. You can see my dark circles clearly and also little bumps here and there. T_T

One side with and one side without. It pretty much covered up my dark circles and it's perfect because I'm the light makeup kind of girl and I'm too lazy to add up the concealer steps sometimes lol.
Can see how much it covered up or not?!

Now covering on the other side. Really, just two pumps will suffice.

I know it's a very blur face of me + very uneven eyebrows but yes main point main point : the foundation!!! I took these pictures right before walking to uni and this was how I went to uni as well.

My Personal Review

I love that the consistency is creamy
It's easy to apply and it's not sticky
Gave me a good coverage even when I'm out for more than 12 hours
I'M UP UP UP FOR THIS FOUNDATION

Get it and try it yourself!
Available in all The Face Shop stores in Malaysia and you can also get it on Hermo!

Hope you enjoyed reading this mini review. :)

Nature's Palette - Customize For Your Skin!

Nature's Palette Review

Life is always about being on the pace that sometimes you tend to lack out of a few routines instead of having a balance in everything. Previously I had finals and coursework to worry for and then internship life, whenever I have things going on and I stress out myself it’ll tend to show on my face A LOT. – because you know, my work-life balance is obviously inconsistent.

Something that has been my holy grail for so long that I literally finished it but thank goodness I took pictures and videos because finishing them all – are products from Nature’s Palette. Thank you Regina though for being so patient with me because I’ve been wanting to blog about this so much, and I could finally sit down and type about how much I loved it.

I had two products to try from Nature’s Palette which is now the toner is totally gone because I used it every single day. I poured the scrub into a glass jar that it looks like a jar of brown sugar now. Plus, it smells so good!

About the brand – Nature’s Palette provides a range of organic and natural skincare products that cater to your skin needs and types. All products are paraben free and 100% organic which brings benefits to your skin!

So before ordering, I had to consult her to see which kind of products that are best for my skin type. I have an oily T-zone yet my nose is dry sometimes, I have huge pores on my nose and basically, the rest of my face is dry that it’ll even crack sometimes.

After describing what my skin type was (it was really hard to fathom though, skin is so messed up LOL) she has suggested that is best for me – is the Lavender skincare range. Lavender will help to reduce the size of pores at the same time refine my skin that is a mixture of both oily and dry.

Toner

For my routine, most of the time I would prefer to use a water-based toner before sleeping instead of more oil or gel based ones. I really do enjoy my hyaluronic/hyaluthione tone before slapping foundation on my face, Nature’s Palette toner is still my fave because it gives a really light-weight and comfortable texture for your skin – before adding any other moisturizer after that.

This toner comes in a spray bottle which is like the very first thing that has drawn my attention HAHA because I find it such a hassle to pour toner on my face then pat in my skin then I’ll have to close the bottle and all – tmi I know. I love how I could just spray the toner all over my face and just let it set after. How convenient T_T

This toner also works like a mist to hydrate your skin or to keep you feeling refreshed whenever you need a boost during work. Like how it is unavoidable to feel listless after facing the computer for long hours. If you’re someone that is always in a cold hot or overly hot place, this is suitable for you!

Plus it’s super travel-friendly since the bottle can fit your bag and doesn’t occupy much space so I really do love the idea of it!

Scrub
When it comes to exfoliation of skin, I tend to be more picky on this. As most scrubs/exfoliators that you could find in stores mostly contain microbeads and which I would not prefer in my context. So Nature’s Palette came up with all-natural scrub which can be used in various ways – even if you’re not trying to exfoliate, it could work as a mask!

For dry skin, it is advisable to exfoliate the skin maybe once a week and as for oily skin is probably about twice a week. But who are we kidding, most of us don’t follow the routine and we tend to neglect this step and only do it only if we remember to do so or when our skin has texture has finally reminded us to do something about it :p

There are about 3 things that you could do with this scrubs – which as far as I’m told. It is also written at the back of the packaging itself!

Most times I would just mix it with honey as suggested because if my skin needs hydration. If I were to solely use it on my skin mixed with water, it would most probably add some redness on to my skin after exfoliation.

I will adding in my second review with more pictures added because 1) I finished the toner before I was able to take more pictures of it to blog, sorry about that! 2) I'm reordering, hence why not?

OW:L Espresso : Bingsu Love!

I'm back from HCM and the first thing that I'm doing is to blog for a cafe in Malaysia and not in HCM. XD But this cafe so kyeopta, hence definitely need some light! You may or may not have read this from instastory, but I did a mini review there as well which is on my Instagram's highlights :)

This cafe was recommended by a friend as I was cooped in Vietnam for tooo long that I wasn't really up to date with cafes in KL. However, staying in Vietnam for so long got me craved for bingsu even more as I didn't really searched for any bingsu shops back there.

Name's OW:L Espresso, obviously. They serve coffee too. XD
We kinda went overboard with the order for four people, so this blog post can mostly cover up dishes that you might want to try when you're there with an empty stomach.

We have no idea why desserts were served first but we just ate it anyway because we were hungry af. But this was our ultimate favourite! Hot brownies coated with peanut jam and roasted marshmallows - a perfect combination of savoury sweetness taste to it.

BINGSU MENU

We went a little crazy with our order of bingsu here
(and after bingsu craze we had our mains too lol)
But they look so pretty for a picture XD

MANGO CHEESE BINGSU

If you're not a fan of cheese cake or whatever related to cheese, you can still try this out and you know, bring a cheese lover friend to try this while you snatch all the mango bits and leave the cheese for your friends. :p There's a share for everyone!

PANDA BINGSU

The major instaworthy bingsu and also, a yummy one. You know how sometimes pretty things are inedible, but this is. I had to take picture with it for a scale, to show you how unnecessarily huge this bingsu is. XD But yeah, do it for the gram! We ate up all the cotton candy after the picture and also the bingsu inside of it. (To see the bingsu reveal video, feel free to check out the video on my Instagram highlights here : click click!)

COCONUT BINGSU

The face super lc i wanna slap. XD but this pictured that it was crying erm, coconut?
This bingsu is topped with a coconut milk flavoured ice cream + bingsu that you can choose to eat it with/without coconut water provided!

SPAGHETTI MENU

These were the mains that we shared and I absolutely love the carbonara one better.
Both tasted good, you take your pick on which to love! ;)

OWL SIGNATURE BROWNIES

I get why this is their signature.
(I would travel all the way there just for this. Legit.)
; and this where you should know my love for brownies, or chocolate in particular
lolol

Just a shoutout to OW:L Espresso and check out the Instagram page for more!

3CE X Maison Kitsune [REVIEW]

3CE X MAISON KITSUNE REVIEW

This may be a really "out-of-the-blue" review as I hardly ever mention about 3CE products. However, I do remember that one of my first few products that I reviewed, one of them was 3CE's Pore Silky Balm which was a few years ago.

Despite not mentioning much about 3CE, I do have a fair stand on how much I love 3CE products as I really do love their mini brush set that I use every single day and also their collaboration with Lily Maymac. The matte lipsticks shades are absolutely stunning!

Thanks to the influence of my dear friend Carol here in Vietnam, she loves 3CE products and she lured me into purchasing these really cute lipsticks from them which is a collaboration with Maison Kitsune. I still have no idea what is Maison Kitsune but it's just really cute that I couldn't stop myself from spending. ;__;

One lipstick costs VND330,000 which is about RM57. I think 3CE lipstick prices are all ranged at that price as they do also have the reputation of being more high-end.

One thing that really caught my attention was the packaging. I'm always attracted to the packagings of products more than worrying if they are authentic or not. But it is also very very important that you make sure that the products are original after you have spent a sum on them.

I got two of the shades from the crayon range, Murmuring and Blushed. There is another shade that is called Grenadine which is more of a purple shade.

Murmuring ; Blushed
Based on the swatches on the hand, the texture is buttery and the shades are pretty similar in pictures but actually, they're not. Blushed is more on the orange-y side while Murmuring is more of a reddish pink.

I actually bought Blushed for my sister because she has a really fair skin tone so it could be flattering for her but she said she didn't want it because it could be too pale for her. So as I have darker skin tone compared to her, I had to try it to prove her wrong somehow HAHA. She purchased Dohee from Colourpop that was similar to this shade from pictures but it ended up looking really pale on her.

So anyone out there that has Dohee as well, the colour comparison is really far apart from each other. Dohee is more of a pale orange while Blushed is an orange and pink mix.

I've always loved lippies in stick form more than liquid ones because sometimes it could be too mattifying that it would chap my lips. However, most lipstick/crayons don't last long on the lips especially after gobbling up food or drinking coffee out of the cup and you see your beautiful lipstick shade on it.

Can it last as a blush?

Yes, it is a really pigmented blush I would say, it doesn't melt off and still stay puts even after the entire day. I think this is what happens for most matte lipsticks if you use it as a blusher unless you sweat like crazy it could be a different story. But cons would be looking like an Annabelle doll if it's too much :)

How long can it last on the lips?

Depends. If you're really careful with eating it should stay on for a really long time. When I had my "trial" test on these lippies, I ate so much that at the end of the day, it just gave me a really nice stain.

Remark : It's actually really hard to remove!

How it looked on me. :D

I hope you enjoyed this random review!

3-Step-Skincare with Bare Essentials ; The Gossip Is Out! - Review

When you read the title, most of you have probably guessed what the gossip is about. #girlsbeinggirls that we’re always updated with gossips, no doubt. ;) I’m honoured to be one part of the group to share the gossip this time around!

It’s only best when the gossip is juicy and worth knowing, then it’s worth sharing.

Althea has always been my staple supply of skincare products when they cater so many different brands while keeping the prices really low also with brands that are hard to find in Malaysia. Now that they came out with their own Bare Essentials, it’s definitely a must to try :)

There were words saying that to keep your skin youthful always, you have to first take care of your skin with a proper routine. For a lazy person like me, the most that I would do after removing my makeup is the normal cleansing, toner and moisturise. Sometimes maybe a mask if I really need to because I'm a #lazypotato while I’ve seen people with 5-10 products in their routine and it caught me off-guard thinking, I probably need to do more about it. :/

However it has been like this with me for years, and what I feel is essential would be the cleansing, removing makeup the proper way that will enhance the skincare even more.

Althea’s Bare Essentials skincare is focusing on keeping skincare routine minimal while giving maximum results, leaving your skin looking glowy and beautiful. It’s essential that you have a skincare routine, hence you can leave it minimal and bare with the correct products. :) They’re also working on curating perfect complexion that it lessens your needs of applying more makeup to cover your perfect skin.

When I first saw the packaging of Bare Essentials, I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I love things that look simple yet ecstatically beautiful. As they want to keep the skincare routine minimal, there are only 3 products required to restore the glow and freshness of your skin – cleansing, toning then moisturize your skin.

1.      The Contour Cleanser – RM23
Content: 150g – Ice Plant and detoxifying Lemon Myrtle extract, densely filled with microcapsules in it which will help in cleansing, exfoliating and detoxifying the skin.
What’s so different about this product that it promotes better blood circulation, reduce swelling and bloating on the skin (?) It just sounded really special to me, as I’ve never really realized if my face shape could be refined by cleansing my face.

Works: The ice plant ingredient in this really gave a mild minty effect which I LOVE. The scent of it smells very fresh like a forest (is this a good description) and I love the bits in it that helps to scrub my face and yet doesn't overdo it.
However, I'm not so sure about contouring my face. It probably does its job but I have to observe longer. Even if it doesn't give me a contouring effect, I love it enough to continue using it every day to cleanse my face thoroughly.

2.      The Primer Water
Content: 200ml – made with Snow Lotus extract and contains patented dewdrops technology. It has been said to help fill the gaps between pores while promoting hydration within the deep layers of the skin

Toner is definitely my favorite step in the routine, as it keeps the refreshing feeling on the skin and also helping my skin to breathe better. I’ve always believed that the perfect toner will definitely make huge changes and enhances the natural glow of the skin.

Works: The gel-like texture toner is always my favourite in comparison to any water-based toner, especially in the morning when I feel an extra texture to my skin. Some gel-like ones could feel a little tacky but this absorbs really quickly before I slap on the layer of cream on top of it. Not to mention that it also smells really refreshing and I believe that I've been some changes in skin texture after using this. My pores are usually really hard to be minimised, but I sure hope that it did fill in the gaps between my pores so, in the long run, it does get better!

3.      The Fixer Cream
Content: 50g – contains Trehalose (an ingredient found in cactus), Camellia Sinensis (green tea) seed oil, and also Baobab tree extracts.

It has made to be ultra nourishing while keeping the formula that absorbs quickly into the skin, without having to leave stickiness on the skin which has been my concern from a few moisturizers that I’ve used before. The Baobab tree extract also helps in regenerating collagen on skin that promotes youthful and radiant skin.

Works: This is definitely my favourite part of the routine!! Especially when I don't have to apply makeup after, I love the texture of this and how it gets absorbed into my skin. I always dab like a nice amount on my cheeks, a few points on my face then start applying it. I definitely see the difference with this product. It brightened up my skin a lot than before.

Will I restock this again: YES!

The price point at RM116 for a full skincare range, it ranges lower than the usual skincare products that I used to purchase before this. In addition to facial wash, toner, emulsion, and moisturizer that could easily be more than two hundred bucks in total. Althea is also currently giving out 10% off additionally with a free special edition mirror if you make your purchase now. :)

A little update - A new journey

Anddd all you have ever heard about me in my previous blog posts are about me being too busy with semester stuff, finals, events and so on without having much time to travel and blablabla.. With this post I would like to change the flow for abit :D

For the past few months I’ve always been on the move – Because the way we see things are always different from time to time but it’s not necessarily a bad thing to have changes. We see things in a clearer view, different perspectives and we feed our brains with more “food” to grow.

If you’re my friend, you’ll probably know by now that I’ve been travelling to Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh for internship and that is probably by far the best choice I’ve ever made to finish my internship in a foreign place. It may seems very surreal for me still, but I’m ever loving HCM from time to time now even though I just spent 10 days here, and another 2 months plus after this before I return back to my homeland, Malaysia. :)

Just a little update on Vietnam that, the reason why I’ve been spamming little snippets of HCM on my instastory is to show how little did we know about Vietnam. Let me just start off myself that, before I even travelled to Vietnam I did not expect how much I would get used to living in Vietnam for these 3 months. All I had in my mind was “Am I gonna survive there alone” lolol because I’m a pretty timid person that it was just really something different for my own experience.

Then my friends told me they would like me to be the tour guide in Vietnam if they ever come here and I’ll have to make sure I know those routes and all the good food here, cheap accommodation that are within their budget.

Just to mention that the tickets to HCM from Malaysia is super cheap tbh plus it’s like two hours flight from Malaysia only. Plus, Traveloka is having promotion now where you can go check it out for yourself. You can click here to check it out and also here for Air Asia promos - because I wanted to travel off to Hanoi/Danang/Nha Trang and other places after my internship hence I stumbled upon Traveloka. Then realizing how cheap it is to book from here somemore I don’t even have to go to the shop and settle my tickets.. ._. Traveloka will filter straight which flight is the cheapest at your designated dates and you can choose at your own ease. Don’t even have to think twice because the platform already settle for you :P Air Asia having promotions now too, and you know how crazy Air Asia always is with discounted prices for flight tickets… OH and you can also compare hotel prices on Traveloka. Super convenient cannnn ;_;

So far, I’m indeed loving Vietnam so much. Everyone that I met here are nothing but helpful, kind and I’m so thankful for that. The food here is awesomeee and the places I’ve been are just plain beautiful. Probably what we see is just the roads with bad traffic but they don’t actually find it bad here at all. I got to experience riding on the bikes here since my local friend said “if you’ve never road on the bike in HCM, it’s like you’ve never been here before” – when I’m so afraid on riding bikes back in Malaysia lolol.

So, thanks guys. Just an update, I’m surviving very well here. XD
I’ll be updating more of HCM’s delicacies and also places to go so stay tuned. ;)

The only thing I can update of Vietnam is Ho Chi Minh and there’s so many other places to explore after my internship. Some things that I’ve learnt over the past few months that – we’ll never learn if we just stop at one point and stop improving ourselves. Never settle, keep moving on.
I’m eternally grateful that I’ve always given the chance to improve and see the world more on my own than just seeing it on the screens. Experiencing it yourself is definitely way surreal than just reading how people explain of a place by words.

So yeah to see more of HCM, I’ll be updating more after CNY. Have a happy new year! :D
Once again, if you ever plan on travelling check out Traveloka. Dah lah siap compare prices for flight tickets, hotels. Just book them and you’re ready to explore a new place on your own!
Hope you enjoyed reading this post.
